Age:
Children are available 13 months and older, but few children,
especially healthy children, are available under 5 years of age.
Sibling groups are available and there is a reduction in fees for a sibling
*see below under fees.

Gender:
Both boys and girls
are available for adoption. First time parents should be flexible in regards
to gender selection. |
|
Health: Most children are healthy or have special needs, but delays due to
institutionalization are to be expected.
|

Adoptive Parents Requirements |
|
Marriage:
Married couples may adopt.
Couples should be married at
least one year. A previous divorce for a parent is allowed. Individual
considerations can be discussed with your agency representative.

|
Age:
Adoptive parents must be at least 21 years of age.
Age difference between adoptive parents and adopted children should not
exceed 45 years. |
|
Children:
No limitation regarding children in the home. |
|
Travel:
Only one trip of 3-5 weeks to Ukraine is required for the adoptive parents.
Both parents must travel in person to identify their children and to attend the
court hearing. |
|
Time Frame:
It takes 3-4 months to complete your family assessment, dossier and to receive
your USCIS approval. It takes about 5-7 months from the time we receive your
completed dossier until the time you travel. |
|
Referrals:
Children are selected in person in Kiev from the database of photos and
information at the National Adoption Center in Kiev.

Costs
not included in the Program Fee:
The adoptive family will be responsible for all fees and
expenses associated with the adoption. The above fee
schedule represents all of the professional fees to be paid
to IAN plus many others you can expect to pay to third
parties throughout the process. It is not an inclusive list
and other miscellaneous costs may include, but are not
limited to, all travel expenses, dossier preparation,
homestudy and post placement reports in your home state.
Fees for obtaining birth, marriage, divorce, and other
certificates; physical exams for parent(s) and child(ren);
notarization, apostille and legalization fees; long distance
phone calls; express mail and other courier fees; Visa and
Passport fees; USCIS Service fees; Colorado Department of
Human Service fees for Colorado families; air fare;
accommodations and meals and expenses in another country;
validation/ re-adoption court fees in the U.S., fees for
birth certification and naturalization fees and other
expenses. Fees are subject to change without notice. |
